How do I go about finding a local freight pickup/delivery service in the Boston area?

Basically, my business is growing to the point where we need to pick up inventory from several locations around the area. The inventory sometimes is already boxed, but is never on pallets or in parcels. There's maybe a van's worth every other day to pick up, which means around ~180 cubic feet of inventory a day. Is there a common service offered that provides this sort of shipping?

Call a courier service, many of them have vans and drivers that do this kind of work. I used City Express once or twice when I was in a jam.

You could also consider Metro Pedal Power; they're based in Somerville and do deliveries on specially fitted bikes that can carry up to 500lbs. Plus, super duper green.
