What are some interesting ways to go from the UK to France?

Sure, you could take a ferry from Dover to Calis or take the Eurostar through the Chunnel, but those are boring! Money is not an issue, and you want to make it interesting. What do you do?

You could pedal an airplane across the Channel.

You, Sir, need Wikipedia's handy entry on Notable Channel Crossings.

Money's no object? How about a restored WW2 landing craft, then?

Best answer: Rosyth-Zeebrugge. Via Scotland and Belgium, the major point of interest being sailing under the Forth Bridge.

Hull - Zeebrugge
. Again via Belgium, the main interest in this one is that is starts from Hull, which automatically makes the destination even better. Leaving Hull is the best thing one can do with Hull.

But those don't really cost all that much more than your standard trip, so how about:

Hire a whole damn train to yourself.
Or a hovercraft.

Personally, if money was no object I'd hire the most Bond-villain craft I could get my hands on. If you could pay the train hire people a bit extra to paint the thing black for your trip, then emerge with sharp-suited entourage at the Gare du Nord.

If money's really not an object, go West!
