Best answer: Lots of websites seem to sell the same product and use the same pictures to show it. Whatever you find, copy the image and then look it up on tineye - I checked on a couple of twin beds from Inmod and tineye found them at Walmart, of all places. They were several hundred dollars cheaper.

There's also Overstock.

I have to chime in on Dragonness' Overstock link. Man, when Overstock sells crap, they really sell crap... but when Overstock is good, they're actually GREAT. I'd highly recommend Overstock once you get a feel for what you want and the quality you're looking for.

Design Within Reach might suit, wonderful furniture and a bargain for what it is, but might be a bit pricey for your needs. I want to move to the States just so I can shop there.

Response by poster: Thank you all for the great inputs. Will research these for our needs.

I have not yet figured out how to set up an alert once I receive a response on ask.metafilter.
And that is why I was not able to reply earlier.
