visual stimulation on the cheap

Looking for cheap, beautiful art and design books I can buy used.

So I've been buying a lot of books lately. Typically I buy them used from a website that gives you discounted shipping prices on books from the same seller. For fun, I like to throw on a few cheapo (i.e. less than $3 or so) used or remaindered art books while I'm at it. I've gotten lots of fun, well-designed, visually stimulating books by looking for Taschen or Phaidon books, but I'm wondering if any bargain-loving art and design aficionados out there can think of any other publishers or sources worth trying.

Thanks, AskMeFi!

Online sellers are pretty savvy these days, so sub £2 bargains are rarer hen's teeth.

Even charity shops are pricing realisitcally nowadays.

If you do find any bargains, do share :)

Have you tried your local library? Many have used books for sale; ours has a very popular resale area, and I've often seen great art books there, both donated and withdrawn from the collection.

Oh, and we price books VERY reasonably - $1 for hardcovers and .50 for paperbacks.
