Any idea where I will be able to find green walnuts in NYC when the season arrives (June-ish?)? I am raring to make nocino, after tasting it in Ticino some years ago.

English walnuts? The nuts taste RADICALLY different; I assume the shells would too (but I don't know for sure).
All native varieties, and most trees you'll encounter, are black.
