Is there an eco florist in your town? I'd like to hear from you! I have been inspired by this florist in Melbourne I recently discovered. I've had a wander around the internets but I'm aware that many small or very local businesses around the world may not have webpages or publicity.

I'm designing a fit out for an eco florist business in a heritage building... I have some great ideas that I am currently putting together for this project, but I'd hate to miss out on the opportunity to hear from others around the world about amazing new eco trends in small businesses like florists. Things I am interested in: how to do away with wrapping papers/plastics etc; recycling opportunities; degradable plastics; mulching; worm farms etc that can be successfully integrated into the design and day to day running of a florist business. I have already hashed out some branding of the eco identity of the business, but if you have any ideas on that front I'd certainly like to hear them too.

What is a fit out? A shop or concept?

I have no idea what an ecoflorist is, and that site is annoying. But you might like to see Saipua in Brooklyn and their blog. Here is a blog post on Saipua's new digs. and the two floral/arrangement series at Design*sponge: We Like It Wild and Weeder's Digest.

Worm farms - you'd need a ton of worms to deal with the green matter left over from a florist business. A compost might be a better set-up. There are posts on here about composting, and lots of other sites.
