Epson NX100 printer problem.

Epson NX100 printer problem: it seems I can get good quality text only from the photo setting.

In the text setting, what text that does get printed looks great, but large chunks of what I typed doesn't get printed at all.

In the text/image setting, the text is so faint that you can barely see it.

In the photo setting, all the text that I typed gets printed and it's definitely dark enough to read, though not quite as dark as what does get printed in the text setting.

I went through the nozzle check, the head cleaning and the alignment procedures, but to no avail. I even went so far as to put in new Epson brand ink cartridges in the printer. Alas, nothing doing.

Have any of you dealt with this before? If so, were you able to resolve this issue?

Best answer: This kinda sounds like a driver problem.
How does it look when you use it as a copier, especially in draft mode?
Are you printing from Word or similar program? Then how does it look printing from Notepad or other txt file program?

Response by poster: I was printing from Word, but now that I try it, it prints great in the text setting from Notepad.
The b&w copy mode is better than printing in the text setting from Word, but not as good as the text setting from Notepad.
The color text copy mode looks pretty good.

I'm using Windows 7 if that matters.

Response by poster: I went to Epson's web site and downloaded the latest driver for 64-bit Windows 7 and things are little bit better. Enough to think it was a driver problem all along.
Thanks MtDewd.
