Best place for low-intermediate luxury snowboarding in French Alps, mid-April?

Going with a Swedish friend to escape insane work schedule for a week or so in mid-April. Both in our late-twenties. Never been down in the Alps skiing before, so want to get a good feel for it. Money is not an issue if the experience is good (within reason people...).
Looking for a nice comfortable hotel, good slopes, fun people, good food, _great_ scenery. (We're used to the beauty of Sweden/Norway, so needs to be up there :)
PS. Have EuroBonus points to spend if that suggests something. No idea just thought I'd throw it in there.
PPS. We won't bring our own stuff, so want good renting possibilities.

Best answer: Checked out Val Thorens? Very cute little town that hides a serious party-crowd of Danes who down the absinth and play hard in pukkelpist / Big air / Snowboarding & Freestyle DM every year at easter. I love it there at that time of year.
