Government funding for a new UK limited company?

Setting up a limited company in the UK. Is there any government financial help available?

I'm setting up a small publishing company here in the UK. Back in the 1980s there was the Enterprise Allowance Scheme. Is there any kind of government funding available nowadays? I think there's something similar called New Deal, but that's for the long-term unemployed, and I'm currently self-employed.
