Good relationship counselor or NVC coach in the LA region?

Can anybody recommend a good relationship counselor or NVC coach in the Los Angeles area? Extra points go to an affordable recommendation.

My ex-girlfriend and I are hoping to restart a relationship that ended two years ago, and we are both in agreement that we would like to start out by having a relationship counselor to help us through some old issues. Not sure if that´s an unconventional approach, but we´re going to give it a shot. We´ve also gotten advice that a Non-Violent Communication coach can be useful in this circumstance.

So: who has experience with a good relationship counselor or NVC coach around Los Angeles? Any specific thoughts on the NVC approach versus the traditional relationship counseling route are also much appreciated.

What area in the LA area? And what avenues for seeking out a counselor/coach had you already tried before you posted this question?

Response by poster: Well, any part of the LA region is something I´m interested in hearing about . . . but I live a mile and some change from downtown.

I´ve looked around the Internet for NVC coaches, but that whole world sounds like it exists more in the Bay Area. Found nothing in LA. Have found some counselors online, but wanted to see if AskMeFi would turn up a personal recommendation.

Yeah, I don't know anyone involved with NVC, so I can't really speak to that piece.

Some great therapists who work with couples (in Pasadena, generally):
Lisa Blum, Psy.D. (very highly experienced and trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy for couples)
Silvina Irwin, Ph.D. (I recommend her particularly if one or both partners has some form of trauma in their past)
Lori Buckley, Ph.D. (specializes in sex therapy and couples therapy)
Susie Icaza, MFT (she uses a lot of cool and different expressive techniques, and she is a really warm person)
Dr. Manny Burgess

If you need very low cost services:
Foothill Family Service
Santa Anita Family Service
Fuller Psychological and Family Services
La Vie Counseling

Response by poster: This is really great, so_gracefully. Thank you. I´ll check them all. My ex has bipolar disorder and trauma issues as well, so thanks for the heads up on Dr. Irwin as well.
