I want to know more about Che Guevara. What documentary film would you recommend I see?
Best answer: As well as the Che movies Steven Soderbergh put out a few years ago.

Best answer: Steven Soderbergh did a movie about his life, called Che, I believe.

IMO you really need to read a book ... this one is great and I believe was one of the main sources for Soderbergh's movie.

Response by poster: Thanks!
I will watch the Mark Steel lectures and then the polished up film Soderbergh made.

I used to be a Cuba addict and just ate up everything about Cuba, Che, Fidel. I became a little disillusioned once I realized that a lot of the information is really once-sided. Or at least the information I was coming across. The Jon Lee Anderson book is always recommended (I have it but haven't read it yet). I also read http://www.amazon.com/Exposing-Real-Che-Guevara-Idolize/dp/1595230521/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267114380&sr=1-4 this book. I don't love the way it's written but it did give me the other side. Sorry I can't link from work it seems.

If you're going to watch a bunch of movies about Che, I also recommend watching this short (8 min) video about Che and Hollywood.

He did keep extensive journals (the motorcycle diaries being one focusing on his early life) and a lot of them are published if you aren't opposed to actually reading reading about him as opposed to watching.
