going bananas searching for beer

Where can I find Banana Bread beer in DC?
Wells Banana Bread beer is spectacular. I had it while visiting NYC a few months ago and have been searching fruitlessly for it in the Washington DC area ever since. I think they have it at RFD, but I would really like to be able to have it at home. Have you seen it for sale anywhere? Preferably metro-accessible, but not required.

Response by poster: I'm sorry, I mean for sale at a liquor store (so I could take it home), not at a restaurant.

As far as getting it at home, perhaps call Total Wine and see if they can order it for you.

Maybe the Brickskellar or Kramerbooks can tell you where they get it from? If they get it from a distributor, that distributor should be able to tell you to which stores it sells that beer.

Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits definitely has it. Gilly's in Rockville is a good bet, too.

Best answer: Rick's Wine and Gourmet almost always has Banana Bread Beer. Call first if you check. Sadly, it's only barely Metro accessible (about a mile and half from the metro, or a bus ride on the AT-8 or 29N/K).
I've mentioned Ricks before in previous questions, I just like 'em.

I bought a bottle at the Logan Circle Whole Foods about a year ago.

Response by poster: I went to Rick's last night and stocked up! Thanks, skynxex!
Pretty spectacular variety they have there. Wonderful place, will certainly be going back.

Response by poster: oh, also - I frequent that Whole Foods (especially their beer section), and I haven't seen it there. Pity that they once had it!

Response by poster: Asker again here. I was at the Logan Circle WF last night. They have it in 4-pks. Either I have a Banana Bread beer shaped blind spot or they just recently got it in stock again.
But if anyone is still reading this, you should try it!
