Free computer help at a bar in Portland, OR?

I thought that there was a bar in Portland, OR that had a free computer-help-night--basically you could bring your laptop in and there would be some knowledgeable people around to help you with your problems. Does this exist anymore? A friend that knows nothing about computers is having some problems with a possible virus on her PC and needs someone to tell her what steps to take.

I've never heard of what you describe. I assume your friend is interested in the "free" element, but on the off chance that she likes her tech support with a PBR chaser, these two business occupy the same space:

Old Town Computers

Backspace

The Old Town Computer guys are super friendly.

If it's software help you're looking for, maybe Beer and Blog fits the bill.

I have never heard of this. You might do a search on Willamette Week. Your friend wasn't misunderstanding the concept of the "genius bar," was she?
