What are the best cross-platform mobile games?

I have a Palm Pre running WebOS. I often play chess using the Chess.com app for WebOS. One of the things I like about it is that it is cross-platform, so I can play against friends with iPhones or other kinds of phones. Are there any other cross-platform games like this out there? If so, which are the best? I prefer word-based games or trivia, but I'll settle for anything. Is there anything like Words with Friends that is cross-platform?

Wesnoth runs on Maemo and iPhone and there's probably a WebOS build somewhere. However, I think parts of the UI could use attention; the menus are driven by tiny buttons.
