And people are always going on about French film...

Where can I get film developed in France without paying an arm and a leg?

I live in a small-to-mid-sized city in France and need to get rolls of film developed. I've inquired at both a rather upscale specialty film store and a regular-looking Kodak kiosk. The latter quoted me 22-23 EUR for a roll, and the former even more, which rather gobsmacked me. I'm not sure because I hadn't used film until now, but I thought that in my native country, the US, this only costs a few bucks. Do I have any cheaper options? I don't mind services involving the mail, but they have to be doable from France. I know I would save in the longterm if I bought chemicals and learned how to develop, etc., but that's not really an option right now. Thanks in advance.

Buy (or mooch through) photography magazines in newsagents; you'll get adverts for mail-in processing services. It is getting more and more expensive with each passing year though; consumer demand has virtually evaporated.

Try Negatif+ in Paris. They sell film, so I presume they develop it. Is there anywhere in your neighborhood that sells disposable cameras? Or a Le Clerc or Carrefour with photo developing?

Can you join a camera club that has its own facilities and develop your own?
