Sod Heisenberg, I want a SatNav that will do both...

Looking for recommendations for a cheap SatNav system that will tell me how fast I'm going...

I'm thinking of buying a satnav for a specific trip (hence the low cost) but I don't have all that much use for one on a day to day basis.

To give it a more regular day-today use, I would like it to have a mode where it shows me the current speed I'm travelling at.

Does anyone know if anything out there fits the bill?

Both of the TomTom devices I've used showed speed as a matter of course.

All Garmins do this, FWIW.

Response by poster: Do they do this as a little message in the corner of a screen, or can they be set to show it taking up a large chunk of the screen?

(I'll admit it... I wasn't expecting the answer to be this simple...)

Corner of the screen.

The garmins can switch to full screen. Well, almost full screen. The top 2/3 is the speed, the bottom 1/3 is elapsed time/distance/average moving speed/total average speed.

That's on my Nuvi, anyway.

Response by poster: Cheers guys. Amazon have the Nuvi 255 for £80, so I'll take a look at that one at the local halford/pcworld later on...

This is what the Nuvi screen looks like FYI.
