Help me float Mom's boat (with a NYC dinner cruise)

Please share your recommendations/experiences regarding dinner cruises leaving from Manhattan or New Jersey.

My family would like to take my elderly mother on a dinner cruise this summer to celebrate her birthday. There will probably be about 10 or 12 people. What are your recommendations for good value for money? We're not looking for gourmet luxury, but it would be nice if the food equaled the view. Special bonus if you know of any cruises that offer vegetarian/organic menu choices.

How elderly/active is she?

Some of these cruises tend to play loud music and last a couple of hours or more. I would think you would want to avoid those. But perhaps your mother still likes that kind of stuff.

Response by poster: Mom will be 85 and her hearing isn't great, so yes, we'd like to avoid the disco boat.
