Find me a watch like Lawrence of Arabia's.
It doesn't have to be a chronograph, an omega, or even have those straps. I'm just looking for something highly similar.
And it has little to do with the history, I just love the way it looks.

These Poljot watches are interesting, to me. However, not having an idea of how much you'd want to spend, these could be way too expensive.

Well, there are these Sturmoviks from Moscow Classic. Mechanical chronographs with vintage cases and dials, but in a trendier size (i.e. large). I owned one and liked it, except it was slightly too big (46mm case) for my 6.75" wrist.
Though the watch you link calls itself an "aviator," that style of lug and dial is usually found on the WWI trench watch.
When I think of a high quality homage to this early style of watch, I think of the Glycine Eugene Meylan and the Longines Spirit.

I used to collect watches, wrist watches. I have about 30 or so that I no longer want to keep around. They have all been re-conditioned, some work better than others and pretty much I will make a great deal with any interested parties. I am not looking to make my money back in any way, just to get them to good homes.
There are a couple that might fit your bill, anyone is welcome to contact me. I put up images of them all here. This is not a sale or a promotion. I was only sending it to my personal friends,and since this post came up I consider Mefi a personal friend.
