Troll must die

What, if anything, will happen to this kijiji troll?

I posted a lost pet ad on kijiji, and received an email indicating that the pet is dead (only that and nothing more). I clicked on the "report the user" link in the kijiji mail, and got the message that they will investigate, which is also all I can find on the website about hinky replies. The sender's email address is clearly shown (x@y.com, where y.com is an unheard-of domain, to me). Will this person be sent a warning, or otherwise be affected by the "investigation"?

I lost a bird a few years back, and some twit left me a message claiming his cat had it in their mouth. I really don't understand how some people can be such jerks, and I really hope that kijiji does something about the one you've encountered. Sorry about your pet, I really hope you find it.

There are ugly, ugly people out there, and thanks to the internet, they can get your attention. Some of them will grow out of it, because they're teenagers. Some won't. You really can't affect them much. The world can, and will.

If Kijiji is anything at all like Craigslist (and my imperfect understanding is that it is), then absolutely nothing will happen to the jerk. Realize that he can't actually take anything from you. Good luck with your animal!
