So my kids hear only music.

I'd like to put a system in our master bedroom (<400 sqf) and I'm overwelmed. Receiver/amp, speakers, and my ipod is all I need. I'd like the speakers to be small and wall mounted. I have a recommendation for Paradigm Reference Mini Monitors. Any comparables? Is that a good direction to go in, or should I go the "ceiling can" route? How'bout the receiver? Any and all recommendations are welcome.

Mr Me, let me know if you can't remember my previous response. I recall you marked it as best answer.

In short: try things out. Paradigm pair well with Denon receiver. Stay away from cans.

I have Mini Monitors wall mounted. My comments (I am not an audiophile):

1. They do not fit my definition of "small". Part of this is probably because:
2. They are a ported design that I understand isn't really designed to be close to a wall. Because of this I have them sticking out as far as the wall brackets allow, which is still solidly under the minimum recommended distance from the wall. But they're pretty big to my tastes, and I would think they'd just be huge in a bedroom. They would be too big in *my* bedroom, anyway.

I'd probably recommend some of the smaller cube-ish speakers, probably by Paradigm (only because I know they're decent and I don't really know the market). No complaints with the sound. Maybe a subwoofer for masking those pesky low frequency thumps.
