Pop quiz: where should my boyfriend and I spend New Year's Eve? We'll be kidless... well, kinda (no varmints from ~5PM on New Year's Eve until ~5PM on New Year's Day). However, we can't decide where to spend our day o' freedom. The details:

- We're in Bucks County (about 45 minutes NE of Philadelphia).
- We've got a trusty Honda, some camping equipment, a few bucks and a lust for interesting experiences.
- We love road trips, urbex, the unusual, the scuzzy and the totally ridiculous.
- We're unconcerned with location/amenities (as long as we can get there and back within 24 hours and [probably] won't die, it's a-okay).

Previous trips have included a camping in Pennsylvania's most-secluded national park during an ice storm and a jaunt to the beach in New Dorp, NY just because the name made us giggle. Oh, and getting kicked out of an S&M convention (but that's another story).

Help out two geeks in love, Mefites: point us towards something awesome!

Great Dismal swamp in Virginia. There's not much there but it's got a fun name.

Maybe this sounds boring, but there's got to be at least 2-3 off-the-wall things going on in New Hope, particularly within the gay scene. Poetry, concerts, readings, protests by angry lesbians... And, of course, it's right around the corner.

My other thought, if you want to go back to secluded, is give the NJ pine barrens a try.
