Where to post a fitness log?

I'd like to find an on-line community where I can publish a public log of a January fitness kick - healthy eating, workouts and so on.

I generally have a January detox where I concentrate on regular work outs, eating healthily and watching what I drink.

Can anyone recommend any good forums, sites, communities where I could post up a log. Looking for somewhere with friendly people who will give advice, encouragement, etc.

Also if anyone is interested in joining in and posting a similar log then feel free to mail me and we can work out how to encourage each other.

Check the sidebar. Metafilter just did this for mefites. I haven't looked at it, but I bet it's helpful!

Check out the JP Fitness Forums -- I've found it to be an informed, helpful, supportive place.

zeaLOG has all of that. You can log public or private, alone or in groups. It's free. It's not all strictly fitness related, which is why I prefer it. I can also keep track of money I waste on various things, basically any and all resolution related tracking. I'm restarting all the stuff I started last January there as well. :)

The John Stone Fitness Forums are filled with people that are knowledgeable, friendly, and inspirational. Finding that community changed my life. There is a Fitness Journals section that is exactly what you're looking for.

Congratulations on your decision to increase your fitness. A public log is a great idea. That kind of accountability has helped keep me on track and motivated.

Seconding SparkPeople - when you sign up they give you a myspace style page that you can do blog posts, track nutrition and exercise, and participate in a community of fitness people.

Third for SparkPeople! A great site with many communities, forums, and tools! Also daily and weekly emails to motivate and inspire!

Another vote for SparkPeople. The community is one of their major assets.

Response by poster: Had a look at sparkpeople and am not sure. From a first snoop around I kind of hate the design.

I don't need any fancy tools. Just a forum thread with some good people round to comment on is all I need. Think I'll try Josh Stone fitness.

The thing about SparkPeople is it can look chock full of stuff, but that just gives you room to use whatever you like. Me, I use their food tracker and their recipe analyzer. That's it. I don't post on the forums much, don't use their workouts or meal plans, don't use their other myriad tools.

It's up to you, but the community there is excellent and encouraging. And you're not obligated to use the counters or plans or anything else to simply move in and post one thread in which you post everything (I have seen this a number of times) or on your own "Sparkpage" for feedback.

rosstraining.com has forums, and one of the forums is dedicated to users' workout logs.

Pretty simple, bare-bones design. Knowledgeable, friendly members. Give it a look.
