Sending a gift of wine to Atlanta from Toronto - Atlanta companies that deliver wine/other solutions?

One of my bosses wants to send some gift bottles of wine from Toronto to Georgia. It doesn't seem likely we will be able to buy here and ship across the border without huge hassles. Are there any companies within Atlanta that will deliver a gift basket of wine or just a bottle? Barring a local source, any national wine shipping companies that are legit and will ship to Georgia?

(Sort of previously...) You could try calling this list of stores in Atlanta as a start. Good luck!

Oh, and here is another directory of Georgia wine stores I was able to find... You could even try contacting Georgia wineries, as sometimes wineries have different shipping regulations than wine retailers. I'm not sure what kind of wine your boss wants to send, but a wine from a local winery could be a nice touch.

I don't know if they offer delivery, but when I lived in Atlanta, Green's had the best selection that I found. They do offer gift certificates. If you're looking for Georgia wines specifically, consider Chateau Elan.

Do you know what area of Atlanta you will be shipping to or at least a ZIP code? Green's is a great wine and liquor store, but some of the smaller boutique wine stores may be more likely to do gift baskets and delivery.

In Buckhead, Wine Gallery + Market offers gift baskets. Cellar 13 is another option. I've never shopped at either store, but wanted to give you some options.

One other Atlanta resource: Zifty.com. Zifty delivers snacks and sundries. I don't see alcohol on their product list, but they might be willing to do the delivery for you.

Best answer: Ansley Wine Merchants in Midtown is a great shop and a real joy to visit. Call them up and ask. And encourage your recipient to go check them out!

Green's is great too, but Ansley is more ... homey. As you'll see from their website!

Response by poster: Well I've called around a bit and it seems that wine delivery is not an option in the state of Georgia unless you're having it delivered to yourself? Also, I'm told you can't do gift certificates for alcohol. We will try something different. Thanks, guys!

Response by poster: Thanks everyone, especially intermod, because Ansley Wine Merchants were lovely and managed to help me puzzle out a sufficiently legal way to make this happen. Also, what a treat to speak with so many Southerners in one day.
