Session-only cookies in Firefox

Is there a Firefox addon that will mimic the behaviour of Cookie Monster, but give me extra functionality?

I love Cookie Monster, but it's missing what is for me a vital feature - the ability to make certain site's cookies session only, even if they're set to expire at some point in the future. I love the way it handles cookies otherwise.

As an example, I want to make foo.com's cookies session only, even if they aren't by design, so that they're removed when the browser is closed. CM will allow me to accept or deny all cookies from foo.com by default, or only accept session cookies, but foo.com only has permanent cookies. I want the cookies from this specific site to be removed at the end of the session, while leaving other sites cookies alone.

Is there some way I can achieve this?

I don't want to have to rely on any user intervention. Running anything manually to remove those specific cookies every time I restart my browser isn't a realistic option.

Isn't that exactly what "temporarily accept cookies" does?

Response by poster: Yes, but that has to be reset every single time. It can't be set as a default action at all, either globally or on a per-site basis.

CookieSafe seems to have an option for "Allow from example.com for session", which should force normal cookies into session cookies.

I think you're misunderstanding what the (badly worded) "Accept session cookies from..." option does. I just had a little test run of Cookie Monster, and what happens when I enable "Accept session cookies from" for google is that I get my Google cookies with expiry set to "At end of session" (under View Cookies), even though Google sets them with their usual outlandish expiry dates in 2011.

In CS Lite, the option that does the same is called "Accept cookies from ... for session", which is more like it.

Best answer: You don't need an add-on for this.

Right-click on the page and select "View Page Info".
Move to the Permissions tab
Under the Cookies section, uncheck "Use Default".
Change the option on the right to "Allow for Session".

Best answer: Note: This option affects future cookies, but not existing ones. You will have to clear existing cookies manually.
