Help me become a better professor!

My University's Engineering Faculty offers a certificate program entitled "Prospective Professors in Training." Please help me inventory similar professional development programs at other institutions that prepare soon-to-be faculty members (i.e. grad students) for the ins-and-outs of an academic position.
Details about the program from the PPIT website:
The Prospective Professors in Training (PPIT) program aims at preparing soon-to-be faculty members to the rigors of the academic position, and how to best manage their time and resources between teaching, research, and university administration. Participants are selected among students applicants nearing the completion of their Ph.D. degree based on their demonstrated research abilities and their passion for teaching and mentoring.
Engineering focussed programs are of the most interest for me, but those based on other professional disciplines are also welcome.
Thank you!

Best answer: Preparing Future Faculty. Hit the list of involved institutions and other links on the site for more information than you might care to look through.
Also, this Google search will find all sorts of sites for programs with that name at all sorts of universities.

Response by poster: Thanks for all of your help so far, there are some great suggestions here. FYI: The original example I gave does require the completion of a graduate level course in Engineering Teaching and Learning that introduces pedagogical aspects of teaching in higher education, including strategies to create significant learning experiences.

In addition to being on the list of Preparing Future Faculty programs that whatnotever linked (here's a direct link to ours), my university also has a Certificate in Teaching College Biology. I really want a job, so I've done both programs, if you have any specific questions I can answer.
(if anybody's hiring, I'm also really multi-disciplinary and have a great Statement of Teaching Philosophy and believe strongly in the mission statement of your school)

Here's a course home page for a recent semester of EE301 ("Teaching Techniques for Electrical Engineering") at Berkeley.

Berkeley Physics has the Compass Program (more), which is not so much formal professional development as hands-on experience.
NASA runs the Center for Astronomy Education, which is kind of a travelling roadshow/workshop/community resource based in (I think) Arizona.
Oxford, which is where I am, goes through the motions on this, requiring one day of training which, as far as I can tell, is done to satisfy legal obligations re: discrimination, harassment, etc.
