Olympus LS-10 recorder help?

Does anyone have knowledge of the Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM recorder?
MY problem is this: the 4 buttons at the bottom of the device which include "menu" , "list" , "A-B repeat" and Fn" ( all the buttons I need to set the recording quality) will not work. It's almost as if they're locked ( they're not on hold) , but i've checked everything and can't figure what the problem is . The 'record' and 'stop' buttons work fine, but the 4 buttons on the bottom row aren't responding. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

I just grabbed my LS-10 and when I power up the unit, those buttons *do* work right off the bat. I'm guessing you might have a hardware issue. Perhaps a connector on some ribbon cable that's common to all 4 buttons has gotten loose? I noticed there are little phillips screws around the unit that I would be tempted to undo and peek inside if I were in your position.

Response by poster: Thanks for checking. Yeah, those buttons should be functional when you turn it on, they used to be but suddenly thy stopped working. i was hoping to avoid opening it up but it looks like I may have to send it to Olympus to get it repaired anyway so I guess it couldn't hurt to just look.

if it's within warranty (usually a year), the shop you bought it from should fix it for you. give em a dingle.
