What was the name of the service that provided you with a free 800 number and credit card processing? Their model was that they took a percentage of the credit card fees and you billed your customers through them. It was a very neat way to setup a small service business with almost no overhead.
Are they still in business?
You can do the same thing now on the web with Yahoo. They do web-hosting for your business, and if someone wants to buy from you, Yahoo processes the credit card transaction and takes a cut.
One of my friends runs his business through it, and it works very well.

It's on the top of my tongue, weren't they overrun with psychics? (if that helps anyone else remember). I think they also ran ads on the sides of SF muni buses....

Response by poster: I think it was Ether. Thanks all. I will look into the Yahoo service as well.

I used their service a number of years ago and it was quite good, though it looks as though their model may have changed somewhat.
