How much does the NuvaRing cost without insurance?

I'm considering whether or not to pay for COBRA. The only real medical expense I have regularly is for my NuvaRing. Does anyone know how much it costs without insurance, so I can decide if it's worth paying for COBRA until I find a new job? With my prescription coverage, it's only been $20.

Call your local pharmacy and ask them. It will vary from business to business and state to state.

$77.35 at drugstore.com, but you might be able to get it cheaper at Planned Parenthood or a county health department.

I had an issue with my insurance awhile back and at Target, it turned out that three months was about $250. I'd also look into insurance programs through your state or county. They often have one specifically for birth control you might qualify for.

That was a Target in Minneapolis, BTW

Best answer: Planned Parenthood sells it at very reduced costs.

I paid either $10 or $15 a month at a Planned Parenthood in NY. No insurance.

Planned Parenthood is probably your best bet. I paid $30 for mine, but even better if you can get it for $10-15 as kate blank does.

I will interject that you should consider what its worth to continue on COBRA so you don't lose your "continuation of coverage." This is especially important if you have an pre-existing conditions that you need to have covered on your new plan. You say that there's no other medical expenses but I thought I'd just throw this out there just in case.

It might pay to give a quick call to your Dr. Because my insurance doesn't cover it, he gives me free samples for 3 months at a time. All I have to do is give a quick call when I run out and they tell me to stop in to restock.

Response by poster: Update: The NuvaRing was about $70 from my local pharmacy, and the NYC Planned Parenthood I contacted doesn't carry it at all. Thanks, everyone, for the answers!
