Did I dream this? I am trying to find an article I thought I saw on MetaFilter, but perhaps I read it elsewhere.

It described a controversial Holocaust memorial that depicted men on wire, referencing those who would commit suicide by climbing up onto the electrified wire that surrounded that camp. I remember this being a statue in a gray metal. Googling and searching my blog feeds has failed.

Best answer: I don't remember seeing the MeFi post, but the sculpture you're describing sounds like the IPC memorial at Dachau.

There is also this sculpture from Yad VaShem in Jerusalem (it looks to me like it's a replica of the piece from Dachau).
