Can I use Kansas football student tickets if I'm not a KU student?

A friend of mine and I want to buy 2 tickets to Kansas' game next week against Oklahoma. Problem is, they're student tickets, and we're not tickets. I've been told there's an upgrade fee, but it's unclear from the website.

Can we use these tickets? I don't want to buy them if I can't.

Thanks!

at University of texas they check ID, i would assume KS is the sameway, so probably not.

Ditto at the University of Arkansas. Generally, it used to be that if you had an old ID that you could still sneak in, but now they have actual scanners they run cards through to make sure the ID is still valid (current student).

Unfortunately, the cheapest at Stub Hub appear to be $74.00.

I've gotten people into basketball games at Winthrop with student tickets and no problem. Basketball was our big sport, but it is a Big South school.

I've also been told that they check IDs at the University of Georgia.

If you can buy it legitimately, not through a scalper or a student looking to make money then I'd assume you can use the ticket. But if they're going to be checking student IDs then I doubt buying the ticket will be a smooth trip into the game even if it is legit.

i go to UA & you can use a student ticket if you are a non-student but you have to go to the box office before friday to "upgrade" the ticket to non-student status (usually for around $30-$50). our student tickets are all electronically kept on our student ID, which is checked & swiped to get into the gates. when the ticket is upgraded, they give you a paper ticket so you can make it through the student gates without a student ID.

i assume KU would have a similar procedure, since you mentioned upgrading.

At my school, they scan your student ID only to get the ticket. Once you have the ticket, you go to the student entrance, hand them the ticket at the turnstiles, and you are in.

I don't think you'll have a problem.

In further research, a student ID is required for entering the football stadium (beware - lousy embedded PDF setup).

Students may enter the stadium two (2) hours prior to kickoff. This is 30 minutes prior to public gates opening.

Students may only enter through the sliding student gates located on the NE corner of Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium.

To enter the stadium, students must have both their KU Student ID and their ticket. All student seats are located in Sections 21 (Rows 43-69), and Sections 18-20 (entire sections). All seats are general admission.

I went to a KU game recently on a friend's (student there) "guest pass." Even so, they gave me a hard time. I would be shocked if you could get in.
