Need clear or milky plastic spheres

Asking for a friend: I need about 20 clear or frosted plastic balls that are 3" in diameter for a Nuit Blanche project. Where could I obtain such balls in Toronto?

They will be used to diffuse IR light for an interactive art project. The project will debut at Nuit Blanche this year!

I would think that crafts stores would probably be one's best bet here. You could check at Michaels which has locations all over the GTA.

Tap has them, though that's not local.

no guarantee, but you could do worse than try Active Surplus on Queen W.

The first thing that comes to my mind is Christmas tree balls, has Christmas Creep gotten so bad that somewhere like Walmart would have them out already?

Check out Superior Studio Specialties located in Toronto. They specialize in mall and retail display props Think fake grass mats, life size plastic animals, gigantic velvet bows, and- most importantly for your purposes- a ridiculous array of holiday ornaments.

Website is a page-by-page catalog and search is a bit twitchy, so be prepared to spend a while paging though the site or download the pdf. I did a search for the word 'clear' that yielded some promising results. I seem to remember that minimum orders do apply though...
