Monstrous boxes don't fit under my bed!

What are some good under bed storage solutions that are shorter than the average 6" tall under bed box?

Most boxes and containers sold for under bed storage purposes are 6" or 6 1/2" tall. My bed only has 4 3/4" of clearance underneath it, which obviously doesn't work. Does anyone have any clever ideas for off-size under bed organization, short of building my own boxes?

Assume bed risers are not an option.

Best answer: How about something like sweater bags?

Best answer: Ikea also sells boxes that are 3 inches tall and 2 and 3/4 inches tall.

What if you went the other way with it and got some bed risers to raise it up a few inches?

Best answer: If protecting your stored items from dust isn't an issue, you could put whatever you want to store on some kind of tray, like a large baking tray with raised sides. Then you could pull it out easily to access your stored items, and slide it back in. Obviously this solution wouldn't protect your nice sweaters or contain your marble collection, though.

Best answer: These are only 3.9 inches tall.

This is 4" and has a lid

This has a smaller footprint but is only 3"

I'd check out the craft stores near you. It seems to be the best bet.
