Identify a old computer tanks game.

What computer tank game did I used to play?
In elementary school we played a tank computer game. From what I can remember:
- We played it sometime between 1994-96. So it was probably released in 1995 or earlier.
- I'm fairly certain that game was on a floppy disk.
- There's a good chance that it was a DOS game.
Game play:
* The game showed a bird's eye view of the levels.*
- When the tank earned an upgrade it could shoot multiple missiles.

Scorched Earth? Awesome game.

It sounds a bit like Fire Power, although I'm not sure about the upgrade part. Maybe one of the sequels?

Response by poster: To be more specific, the game had an aerial view. It might have had something to do with the future.

Doesn't sound familiar, maybe see if any of these ring a bell?

There was an old arcade game I used to like called Assault which sounds similar to me.

Spectre (a Battlezone clone) had two views; one was 3D and the other was an overhead, IIRC.
I can't remember any of the upgrades, but if you pull up some screenshots you may be able to rule it in or out quickly; it had very distinctive vector-style graphics.

Response by poster: I remember the game looking similar to Assault, but I think the game had 'tank' in the title. Maybe it wasn't a DOS game, but I remember us playing it on some type of computer because we used a keyboard.
