Help me find a reprint of Saul Steinberg's 1976 New Yorker poster, if such a thing exists. This is my awesome birthday gift idea for my husband... but I can't afford an original, which sell on fleabay for $200ish. I'm in the UK right now but will be moving to NYC in September, so a store there or online place would be great.
Sorry - didn't see the line about the price! I'll keep looking.

It's not on AllPosters, and you can buy new prints for $325, so I suspect it might be hard to find it from a legit source for less than what you found it for on ebay. Guess the foundation knows what it's worth.
There are plenty of other cool Steinberg posters available for far less, though. I sure wouldn't mind getting any of them on my birthday :)

Best answer: It looks like this seller on ebay is selling a print of it for ~£20. I'm not sure if this is what you would call a legit source, but everything else I saw seems to be in the upper $200.
I know pointing out one fluke ebay seller will probably not prove useful to future readers of this thread who are also looking for a reproduction of this cover (& I am one of them!) for under $200. So, apologies.

effbot I know, thanks, but this one has particular importance - it's in Joel's office in Northern Exposure and Mr Hibbersk has been muttering for months about how cool it is when we re-watch old episodes.
the cat's pyjamas - don't know how I missed that listing - it must have slipped through the net! it's quite a bit smaller than the original but that actually works to my advantage with our upcoming relocation.. so thanks!

Heh, a framed print of that poster was hanging in the laundry room of my last building, salvaged from the garbage. I had no idea it was that valuable.

hibbersk, if you haven't already pulled the trigger on one on eBay, hold off til tomorrow. I think I may have a framed print of that put aside at my work that I never got around to hanging. Let me check if it's still around.

Pretty much any New York street fair will have several booths of posters, all of which will sell cheap prints of that cover. I got mine for about $15, framed.
