Windows Freeware/Shareware to Rip DVD Audio?

How can I dump DVD audio to make it editable? I have looked everywhere for an accurate soundtrack of White Christmas however the closest one I've found had the songs recorded after the movie ran - and is not the exact same dubbing as used in the movie. [+]

...so I'm looking to take the DVD and dump the audio, editing it into MP3s, and making a CD for myself. That way I can include misc tracks that lead up to the songs.

Any suggestions for free/shareware to use and the process of using it to get desired results?

Thanks in advance.

Best answer: DVD Audio Extractor.

My approach...

Either use the built in ripper in Gordian Knot when I'm ripping full dvd's, or more simply for your purposes, DVD Audio Extractor. The latter can save directly to mp3, wav and other formats, making it quite easy to burn a CD directly.

You probably will need to do some other editing and such of the sound clip itself. There's millions of programs for this. I'm using Audicity right now. It's simple and free.

Response by poster: I have no problem editing the audio. I've been using Goldwave for ages. I just want a quick way to pull it off the DVD. Thanks!

DVD Decrypter can rip just the audio from DVD's if you don't need the video.

DVD Decrypter to get the audio off, then BeSweet to dump it to WAV.

Doom9.org has lots of info.
