Mighty Hercules cartoon

The Mighty Hercules cartoon had a theme song that was parodied in my elementary school. Can you help me figure out the lyrics? (More inside Herc! Herc!)

Here is the theme song of the cartoon. This is what I remember :

Hercules, made out of cheese and baloney, something something,/

With the strength of ten toilet paper men. something something.

I was from the west coast, I sang this song in 84 or so. I am thinking about writing about how memes travel around the playground network, so if you could tell me where abouts you are from and when you heard this song or one like it, i'd appreciate it too.

Hercules, hero of song and story!
Hercules, winner of ancient glory!
Fighting for the right, fighting with his might;
With the strength of ten, ordinary men!
Hercules, people are safe when near him!
Hercules, only the evil fear him!
Softness in his eyes, iron in his thighs;
Virtue in his heart, fire in every part of
The Mighty Hercules

Here's the original song.

Unless you're looking for the parody lyrics. In which case I can't help you. But I vaguely remember some kind of playground song to this tune. That site has a number of good tidbits too.

I was thinking about this recently as well. The only line I could remember was "fighting for his life with a paper knife" (probably replacing the original line "softness in his eyes, iron in his thighs").

Response by poster: I am looking for the parody lyrics, and where you were when you heard it; rough location, year.

I remember it being a rubber knife, not a paper knife, but that could have been local variation. I can't remember anything else offhand though. I'll think about this some more and see if anything comes to mind.

A google search for "rubber knife" and "Hercules" yielded:

Hercules! He's a big fat phony!
Hercules! He's full of balony!
Fighting for his life!
With a rubber knife!
With the strength of ten,
Little paper men!

Hercules, cheese and baloney,
Hercules, he's a phoney,
Fighting for his life,
With a rubber knife
With the strength of ten
Swedish guys named "Sven"

Central Canada, mid 80s:
With the strength of ten
Small and scrawny men.
(that's the only line I remember)
