Old Heidelberg: where to eat lunch, dinner, drink coffee and read alone?

I'm in the old part of Heidelberg near the University for several days. Can anyone recommend 1) coffee houses 2) reasonably inexpensive, tasty food I'm not a vegetarian but I'm not hugely into meat either. Indian, Turkish, Indonesian, etc. would be great.

I'm on my own, with reading and writing to do so I need coffeehouses and restaurants ok with that. But especially cool coffeehouses.

The closer to Bergheimer Str. & Luisenstr. or Bergheimer Str. & Theodor Heuss Br., the better. I can't walk more than 10-15 minutes in any direction, but if there's a can't miss place beyond that perimeter, do tell.

Other cool hangout spots for reading and writing welcome! Sadly beer is not an option.

A hangout for reading, playing chess, or (of course) drinking beer: If you're near the old city, look for the Drugstore, which is just a hundred meters (east to Kettengasse, then south) from the big church marketplace.

There's a train that goes to the top of the old university, and there's fantastic space up there to read, look at the architecture and commune with the universe.
