Landscaper Needed

Landscaping Service in Cincinnati. Our yard is the ugliest on the street. Need recommendations of a reliable, fair-priced landscaping person or service in Cincinnati. We live in Northside.
Our yard is very shady. Grass doesn't grow, but weeds do! It's not a large front yard, but has a slope to it. We would like to have a small brick wall built to terrace the yard. Then we want a non-grass yard - either ground cover or plants and perennials with low maintenance.
Any recommendations before I try the Yellow Pages?

suggestion: get everything in writing case you need to go to small claims court. don't get "overseeding," which is simply scattering seed. Soil needs to be brokien, planted, straw or soil put on top...and of course (your part) watered often after.
Keep eyes on nice houses that have people do lawn...cutting etc and jot down names if the job looks well done and they have equipment and men (usually illegals).
and of course ask friends, neighbors.
