Looking for victorian or old west style fonts.

Looking for font recommendations: something that conveys the feel of late 19th century, somewhat victorian, somewhat "old west" but not the typical "wanted dead or alive" poster style. Thanks!

Just today Dan Benjamin mentioned a new font called Phaeton, which seems to fit your description.

For free fonts (legally so) look on dafont under Fancy/retro. There are a lot of different period fonts in there, but definitely some late Victorian stuff – some all-caps circusy and some scripts, you'll have plenty of choice depending on what you want to do.

Have a look at the LHF Billhead family by Letterhead Fonts.
