Independent Organic Products?

List of organic brands (Food/Cosmetics/Cleaning products) that are not subsidiaries of major corporations? Examples: Nature's Gate, EarthBalance. Have already used this and this.

That first link is super cool.

What about Dr. Bronner's? Best soap ever (and the label gives you something to read while you whatever).

Best answer: There's one here, about a fourth of the way into the page. That's the only user-friendly one a quick search turned up (but it's pretty cool). It seems to be only food, though.

Springfield Creamery is family-owned and operated. Not 100% organic products, but some.

7th generation cleaning products are great, and I don't see them on any of the charts.

Now that Brown Cow (Dannon) and Larabar (General Mills) and Kashi (Kellogg) have been ruined for me, would someone like to ruin Amy's and Annie's?

I'm a big fan of Green Beaver moisturizers. I also love Organic Surge products. Seconded on the 7th generation stuff. The green brand I buy most often however (because it's cheapest!) is President's Choice. I'm guessing you're in the U.S. so I don't know how available this stuff will be but you can probably buy online.

Clif is rather proudly independent and the company's owner/ceo, Gary Erickson, wrote a book about how close he came to selling out but ultimately decided to do his own thing.

EWG's SkinDeep database doesn't exactly give a list. But you can search for products that contain organic ingredients, and then click around on the results to see the brand and company/manufacturer associated with a product. (And then when you click on the company, you can see all of its brands.)

Response by poster: that's what I was looking for - thanks darksong. Yes it would be good to find one for food as well.

Newman's Own. I've been eating their pretzels for workplace snacks for over a decade. (You should see what falls out when I turn my keyboard over and tap it on my desk!)
