Help me remember something truly trivial

Trying to remember a carbonated ginseng beverage sold between 1988 and 1994 at Whole Foods in Austin (and eventually sold at the incredibly fancy flagship HEB). I seem to recall that it came in a purple can and tasted vaguely like dirt. I haven't seen it since and it's driving me crazy that I can't remember what it was called. And no, it was not Ginseng Up.

I remember it, too! I have a call in to the Central Market and they're going to call me back later. One of the people who has been working there for a long time should be in later this evening.

Did it have a picture of a ginseng root on it, and Asian (not sure) writing? I remember this from about that time period. Didn't taste like dirt, though!

Response by poster: No picture that I recall and definitely no Asian writing. It looked more like a Dr. Brown's soda than an Asian drink.

Mod note: Final update from the OP:
Answer: Corrs Natural Soda Ginseng Rush, as discussed in this Chicago Reader article from 1993.
