Used books in central NY state?

Any good used bookstores in central NY between Binghamton and Utica? I'll be traveling mostly in Chenango, Oneida, and Madison Counties along Rt. 12. Just ordinary, comfy places, somewhere in between crappy-paperback swap shops and collectible/antiquarian snobbynoses. Thank you, hive.

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot along Route 12, but I can recommend Popek's in Oneonta. There's also a couple of decent places in Cooperstown. Given these options, you might want to consider taking a slight detour on Route 28 either on the way up or the way back.

Best answer: Once you get to Sherburne, take Route 12B (which still gets you to Utica) and visit Berry Hill Book Shop in Deansboro and Half Moon Books in Madison.

(Or stay on 12 and eat at Michael's. The Greens Michael are not to be missed.)

Best answer: Slightly off Rt 12 in Clinton, NY (where Hamilton College is) is Park Row Books (independent, new books, as I recall). There used to be a great used bookstore there called "Blue Fox Books" but some unsucccessful googling suggests to be that it has gone out of business like its long-gone Ithaca branch did 20 years ago. :(

For general reference, I don't know how well this list is updated these days, and it's never definitive of course, but it's one of the places I go when I start putting together bookstore lists for places I am travelling.
