Music ID Filter: Nan-Lo and the Knights - got any info about this group? Trying to find out more about some tracks on an acetate purchased in Southern California. The label says the songs are called "Oo Hun, It's Fun" and "Haunting Blues".
The band is fronted by a female singer with a definite USO vibe (must be Nan-Lo?) and she seems to have at least one female back-up singer. The arrangement is pretty spare, just an electric guitar and simple drum kit. The music has a really nice early-surf/precursor-to-surf vibe over a blues base. If I had to guess, maybe late 40's early 50's, but I could be way off on that one, I am not a music person.
I have tried to search the name of the songs and band, but have come up with nothing solid. Am happy to post MP3 files and link to them if someone can suggest a good way to do that.
Come to me dear, I want you near, Oo Hun, It's Fun.
It's soooo nice it's paradise, to see your face, feel your embrace, Oo Hun it's fun.
