Where the developers at?

New York City or Tri-State Area web developer conferences - are there any upcoming where I could network to find new hires for my company?

I need to hire a couple of senior web devs full time stat. I'm not looking for freelancers or project based people. I have a start up and I want people looking for that kind of challenge who want to be part of a company and everything that comes with a start up (good and bad). Craigslist and other jobs boards aren't cutting it. Are there any conferences coming up soon in the NYC area where I could go and network to try to find these kinds of people? Where do these people hang out?

You can sometimes find developers through local user groups.

web 2.0 ny is in november, but that's a bit too far for your needs, obviously. if you send me an email (address in my profile) i'd be more than happy to pass it along to the mailing list for alums of the grad program i attended, which has its tentacles deep everywhere in the ny tech scene.

Sorry, I should have noted that for some reason the DevDays are not in NYC - the closest are in Washington or Toronto. Good developers I'd expect, depending on the skill set you're looking for, but not exactly NYC. Sorry.

Response by poster: Yeah, GuyZero I had already scoped out Stack Overflow because I posted a job ad on joelonsoftware. Too bad it's not in NYC.

Another one that may be too late for your needs (October) is CodeWorks.
