donation pick up in manhattan?

Is there any group who does clothing donation pick ups in Manhattan other than Salvation Army, Catholic Charities or NYC Opera?

i have 10ish garbage bags full of good clothing that i don't want to throw away. Both Salvation Army and Catholic Charities were booked for the month when i called and the NYC Opera gave me an unfeasible pick up situation (basically anytime they felt like it within a 6 hr window -- i asked for a 15 min warning call so i could leave work, but there was no follow through and i missed them)

so is there anyone else who does donation pickups?

You might call around to the local thrift stores that aren't affiliated with the ones you mention - veterans, retarded children, St. Vincent de Paul, cancer, hospitals, etc. A lot of them get their stock from neighborhood pickup programs; they might be able to point you in the right direction.

You might try Ganas on Staten Island. They have several resale/thrift stores, and I know they do furniture pickup. You could probably get them to pick up that amount of clothes when they are next in your area. Their contact info is on their site, but the clothing store phone number is 718-273-7139.

Here's a list. I tried to see if New York's SPCA does clothing pickups, but no dice from a quick search. The SPCA in Vancouver has thrift stores and will pick up everything from clothing to furniture.
