Where can I find mead in the Willamette Valley?

Where can I buy mead in Portland, OR or the Portland metro area?

I am on a quest. Searching wine sites and even the higher end supermarkets (New Seasons, Whole Foods) is leaving me empty-handed. Any suggestions for places to check out, numbers to call, or any people that actually KNOW where I can get this stuff?

I'm hoping to avoid online shopping...I'd like to get this at a physical location. But, if you only have suggestions for great mead wineries that ship internationally or domestically, by all means, suggest those, too!

Best answer: Maybe John's Market in Multnomah Village or Belmont Station (now on SE Stark!)

I've seen it at New Seasons, but it might be a seasonal winter-type item. There's a local winery that produces berry wines that also produces mead but the name is evading me.

Best answer: Well, your title includes the valley so if you are ever in the Salem area stop by Honeywood Winery. They make their own and have a retail location in town.

Seconding Belmont Station!! They have a GREAT mead selection. Sometimes they even have it on tap. You can buy a bottle there and enjoy at their bar for a small cork fee. Belmont Station RULES.

Belmont Station is the correct answer to any "Where do I get X type of beer in Portland" question. It is an awesome place.

Response by poster: Mead is not beer! It's honey wine.

Best answer: I know you probably already have your answer, but in case anyone else cares: White Winter Winery will ship to Oregon from Wisconsin. I always bring back a couple of bottles when I visit family.

The Safeways in the Seattle & surrounding carry a mead by Sky Valley vineyard.
They throw it in the same section as the sakes and other specialty liquors.
