How can I migrate files/application settings from Windows XP to Windows 7 RC 1?

Purchased a new hard drive and installed Windows7 RC 1 on it. It works file, the only bit that's outstanding is user state migration.

I saw this video from MS detailing how to use USMT to migrate file and application links from XP to Win7. Unfortunately, this entire process seems to depend on a "simple" batch file that the video glosses over very quickly.

If it's useful, I have two HDs, each with two partitions. HD 1 has a small partition for Windows XP and large one for user files. HD 2 has a small-ish partition for Win7 and a much larger one for user files.

Is there a more detailed guide on how to actually use the USMT tools to migrate user state from XP to Win7? Or another means to accomplish the same thing? Googling just picks up a ton of links to that same video. Thanks!
