ID a book?

I'm trying to identify a book. The book was called, I believe Aeroflot, and it was a diary written by an American expat running a bar in Paris just after WWII. The book's packaging was a brown cardboard restaurant ledger on which the diary entries were written -- it was bound in a tall, narrow pad of restaurant cheques. My attempts to search retailers for "aeroflot paris" have only turned up aviation-related books. From what I recall the book was published in the mid-90s, but I don't have an author's name. Does this ring any bells?

If AskMe fails you, you might try the "Name That Book" group on LibraryThing.

[If you don't want to join LT just to ask, MeMail me and I'll post on your behalf.]
