Looking for MECC game: Dog Sled Ambassadors.

Help me recapture part of my nerdy childhood! I'm in search of a MECC game called "Dog Sled Ambassadors."

Back when I rocked the Apple IIe, I remember playing a kids' game in which you were in charge of a dog sled, trusty Native American companion by your side. You could rearrange your team of huskies in spots like Wheel and Leader, but sometimes they would run off after a moose or something. Think Oregon Trail, but cold.

After some searching, I found out that the game, made by MECC, was called "Dog Sled Ambassadors." Now I'm looking for a copy of the game. Can anybody help? This has bugged me for 5+ years.

Looks like theyre still in business. Maybe you can call them and ask if they still sell any of the vintage stuff.

Best answer: From past experience I can tell you that the more obscure MECC titles are almost impossible to find in ROM form. Nonetheless, in the process of Googling, I found this Google Books (!) reference to it, which gives an ISBN: 0792902718.

Punching it into WorldCat... the Library of Congress (!!!) has it. If you have the hardware to play it, maybe you could ILL it, though hell if I know what their policies are on old-ass software.

You know, I spent hundreds of hours of my childhood using MECC software. They really need an archive and a tribute site or something.

Best answer: bergeycm, I think you have the answer for this old AskeMe.

Response by poster: Awesome work, team! I submitted the ILL (what a great use of library funds) and I'll keep you updated. That I put more effort into finding this game than to writing my thesis says something about my priorities.
