What is this insect that looks sort of like a leaf?

A friend took some photographs of this insect that looks kind of like a leaf, and wants to know what it is. Can anyone identify it?

Photographs here and here.

Response by poster: Also, this was somewhere in Georgia (United States), if it matters.

Best answer: I live in Georgia and in a heavily forested area and these are pretty common around my house in the spring. they are indeed Luna Moths; for a bit of additional trivia they are a type of wild silk moth.
